Living in Florida

Ok-so now we officially live in Florida.  John is gone and we are toward the end of July with 4 weeks to go until school.  Looking for a house wasn't going all that well so we decided to stay with Mike and Sue for a bit.  Peyton was in heaven and as for me...I was adjusting.  Here's what we loved:

1. The water-the ocean is incredible and we can swim everyday. 
2. Stand up paddleboarding.  Our new obsession. 
3. The Everglades.  Peyton loves alligators. 
4. It's not that hot.  Everyone says it is but they haven't been living in 115 degree heat. 

Here's what we miss:

1. Beach camping.  We just haven't found it so far. 
2. Our stuff...still is in storage until we find a house. 
3. Our friends and family.  And again I say our friends. 
4. Our dog. 
5. John

It will soon become very normal for us.  We are really looking forward to that time. 

Family Vacation in the Keys

About 4 days in Florida and then we were on the road again to our actual summer vacation in the Keys with John's brother and family.  We did some boating, driving, snorkeling, drinking, and relaxing.  Oh, and a little more drinking.  The rough part was that John had to deploy in the middle of our trip.  Sad couple of days after he left. 

Cross country trip

Well....great intentions but I'm finally getting to my entire summer post.  The actual drive to Florida was a breeze.  We went at a crazy pace but we survived and got here in one piece.  So grateful to have John along.  Driving around the first couple days I realized that I actually love South Florida.  It was so great to finally be out of the Palm Desert heat.  Yes, out of the heat.  We had 4 days to look for a house and then we were off to the Keys.  Needless to say...we didn't find one. 

So...we completed it.  Flagstaff, AZ, Lubbock, TX, Irving, TX, Memphis, TN, Atlanta, GA, and finally Coral Springs, FL.  6 days and countless hours in the car but it's done.  Peyton did awesome and didn't complain one time.  Charlie too.  I LOVED Flagstaff and would have stayed forever.  Texas too.  Actually, short of AZ which we all disliked, the entire trip was beautiful.  On to our house hunting in FL. 

Birthdays, graduation, moving, John's training and now we'll be on our way.  Leaving July 4th we'll be going to Flagstaff, somewhere in NM, Dallas, Memphis, Atlanta, and finally Coral Springs, FL.  We're all really looking forward to it and ready to go. 

Peyton had a birthday party before we left Palm Desert since she would be with all of her friends.  Now-she doesn't really know when her birthday is but she had a blast. 

Peyton's last couple days at school.  Our baby is now in kindergarten!!!! 

Such a long time since I've posted.  In that time Peyton has graduated from kindergarten, we've moved out of our house, and we're headed to Florida in a couple days. 

This is the month of so many activities.  Peyton had her first dance show this weekend.  It was incredible and she had the time of her life.  She looked gorgeous and did so much better than expected.  I'm pretty certain she won't forget it anytime soon. 

She lost her first tooth at the end of May.  It had been lose for about a week and when we were in the pool one night...it came out right in her hand.  That worked out pretty well since there is NO way I'll be able to pull a tooth out for her.  She'll have it hanging until John comes home.

We are creating this blog to capture our move to Florida, our cross country trip, and our Summer of 2012...ending with our vow renewal in Islamorada, FL in September.  We are moving out of our house on June 15 and officially leaving CA on July 1st.  This blog is simply to keep everyone updated and to document a big event (s) in our life.  So...here we go!
